Local Artist Supports Our Young Adult Carers To Get Creative

We are really excited to be working with our new volunteer, local artist Galina Gardner, on an online art project starting in January with a group of young adult carers.

YAC ART CLUB will take place over 6 weeks on Zoom and Galina will be introducing the young people to art techniques using a range of different materials. The participants will receive an Art Pack through the post so that they all have the right equipment to take part in the sessions.

An introductory meeting in December was a great success with the young people getting involved in their first art challenges.  During the session they were able to choose what medium and materials that they would like to focus on during the course.

2020 has taught GYC a lot about how to deliver online support, we have found that small, focused groups like these have the best engagement.   The course will enable connection and peer support and we are sure it will be a positive and creative start to the year for those involved.

We would like to thank Galina for her enthusiasm to support Gloucestershire Young Carers and to Tesco’s Bags of Help for funding the art packs.
