Young carers need to be recognised, understood and supported within school & college so that they can enjoy the same life chances and opportunities as others.
Key facts:
- It is estimated that 1 in 12 secondary-aged children are young carers
- On average they achieve significantly lower GCSE results
- Young Carers aged 16-18 are twice as likely to be not in education, employment or training.
- 68% of young carers have experienced bullying

E-Learning
NEW for 2022, GYC have developed a bespoke E-Learning module for education staff. As part of your continuous professional development enrol and complete the Young Carers Course.
